Quality design and picture quality is great! The price was right, for the perfect little camera. The mounting was easy, the cable is long enough to wire it neatly without exposure. The entire device connected is very low profile and serves its purpose amazingly! The dings you hear for forward collision warning and red light cameras can be a bit annoying at times but that can be turned off in the settings menu.Overall, this is pretty perfect for use as a dash cam and the phone app is easy to use and convenient. It’s a no Brainer – strongly recommend!

Bought another dash cam a month prior for my wife. It was slightly larger and feature rich, but I find its beeps, whistles, and always-on screen to be very distracting. So I bought this dash cam and found it almost as feature rich, but with this unit, I can turn everything off. Lane drift warning: BAM! Off! Traffic moving and your not warning: BAM! Off. This whistle: BAM! Off. That warning: BAM: Off! Screen always on: BAM! Off after 1 minute, but still recording! This unit, and I presume the slightly newer units in this line, are insurance. And I really like being able to customize my insurance the way I want it. The only thing I didn’t turn off was the red light camera alerts, which thankfully are not needed where I live. Another thing I did like: If I had chosen to leave the screen on 24×7, it’s not cluttered with your MPH, your compass heading, etc etc. It IS just the video on the screen. The alerts pop up separately. The unit is tiny, and I mean TINY, which I like. The smartphone app that allows you to download photos and videos from the unit is clumsy though. The unit doesn’t have or use Bluetooth, but seems to have it’s own little WiFi router built-in. You have to turn the unit’s WiFi mode on manually (good security), THEN go to your phone or tablet, find the unit in your WiFi settings, connect to it, then go to the app, which will then recognize you are connected to your “camera network” and let you view/download stuff. As I said, kind of clumsy, but at least it’s secure. I BELIEVE the unit’s WiFi times out and shuts down after you are done with the app.

Excelente producto.

As with most Garmin product, DC45 is a great set-up. I’m abandoning a Cobra dash cam, not because it doesn’t work, but because its user interface is a complete and utter nightmare. Navigating its menu system, even after owning it for over a year, is a complete nightmare and it’s screen quality is is poor, at best. Enough said. The Garmin Dash Cam is highly user friendly. Within 5 minutes of having it out of the box and plugged in to the car power, I understood every nuance of the menu system and WiFi capabilities, along with its connection to the Garmin Virb app should you choose to use that feature. The video screen is bright and super sharp. This unit does not have voice but I’m not seeing that as a detractor whatsoever. The 45 does everything you need it to do.I highly recommend just buying the Parking Mode Cable at the same time as buying the Dash Cam as its really the best way to go for a near permanent install. Its title is a little deceiving but it IS the lengthy power cable you need for hidden install if you don’t want to have to plug the unit into a cigarette/power port. The microUSB cord end on that part is 10′ feet long from the fuse link, which is adjustable for low voltage settings, and the power connection end is about 3′ feet long. Plenty long enough for most all hidden applications. Save yourself some time and buy it up front.
