Siamo un campo fertile di cose brutte che rifiutiamo di vedere..
La maestria: trasformare un padre di famiglia, un bravo marito, una brava persona, in un mostro psicopatico nello spazio di due tragedie. Un dramma che avrebbe dovuto essere familiare diventa l’universo di un uomo, il dolore diventa la determinazione di un follo, e intorno a lui tutto marcisce. La semina del dolore rende frutti avvelenati.E’ la spirale discendente, dapprima lenta, poi sempre più veloce mentre leggi fisiche dementi trasportano i protagonisti verso una distruzione inevitabile su più livelli. E’ difficile, nonostante sia detto esplicitamente nel libro, forse quasi che l’autore voglia giustificarsi per ciò che sta scrivendo, ascrivere tutto solo ad una forza oscura, Lovecraftiana, non definita ma per questo ancora più insidiosa e sinistra. C’è qualcosa di sbagliato in alcuni di noi, e nelle giuste circostanze, basta solo una spintarella… Vero?

Uno dei migliori
Questo è l’ottavo libro di King che leggo (se contiamo il ciclo della Torre Nera come uno solo). Sinceramente trovo la sua scrittura molto scorrevole e intrigante proprio perché apparentemente molto semplice, sia in termini di contenuti che di costruzione della trama, quando invece la sua complessità nasce proprio dal saper intrecciare sapientemente poche idee chiave fino a creare una rete in grado di reggere degnamente centinaia di pagine. Non so se definire lui un maestro, ma sicuramente i suoi romanzi sono palesemente materiale da cult.Devo dire che questo è stato il primo suo libro ad inquietarmi davvero un po’: contiene nella storia non solo la suspence tipica di questo autore, ma si aggiunge un mancato senso di catarsi (che invece si ritrova in molti altri suoi romanzi), che lo rende in qualche modo crescentemente disturbante fino al suo epilogo.In definitiva lo consiglio.

Un King al suo massimo
Direi che questo è uno dei romanzi migliori di King. La trama e lo svolgimento degli eventi sono sorprendenti, l’orror sublima nel surreale e la realtà si ritira dietro l’illusione.à estremo e impossibile ma funziona, accidenti se funziona!

Just read it!
The Pet Sematary is the first book by Stephen King that I have ever read. I chose to start King’s biography with this one in particular because I read an interview and King himself consider the book as the most frightening, “I was horrified by what I had written”. The King of horror surely does not need my recomendation, but I agree.English is not my mothertongue (so sorry for any grammar mistake!) and although I found the reading quite difficult, it is also enjoyable and the plot is rhythmical, full of suspence and thrilling. I loved it!

Scary and deep
Wonderful book, while and after reading it I felt terrified in my bed for many nights!King is really good in the construction of his characters, they are deep and psycological and you can identify perfectly in them and live with them an emphatic relationship during the horrorful events. It’s really a pity he hasn’t written a sequel of the story…If you love horror stories I recommend reading this book!!

Grandissimo Stephen King, autore immenso. Quindi perché pubblicarlo in una carta così pessima? Il vostro corriere ha lasciato maldestramente il pacco fuori l’uscio di casa, senza avvertire il destinatario, e il pacco ha preso una pioggerellina fine. Il libro adesso è tutto sgualcito e le pagine ondulate. Dovrebbero usare una carta più resistente per un autore così entusiasmante
