L’ho acquistato sotto consiglio di un amico per unire due aspetti che mi interessava coprire: l’inglese e la filosofia: non ho ancora finito di leggere il libro ma posso dire che ha già i requisiti giusti per farmi capire che il libro fa al caso mio.L’inglese di suo è molto scorrevole (forse anche perchè è una traduzione) e soprattutto il libro è un buon punto di partenza per chi come me è abbastanza ignorante in materia e vuole capirne un pò di più su questo mondo.Introduce pian piano i concetti alla base della filosofia partendo da domande all’apparenza banali, ma che effettivamente fanno così parte del quotidiano che neppure ci facciamo caso. Insegna in qualche modo a non dare tutto per scontato ed apprezzare maggiormente quello che ogni giorno sperimentiamo e viviamo nel viaggio della vita.Con lo stesso concetto di base esplora i vari stili dei più grandi e importanti filosofi…ma su questo mi riprometto di scrivere di più non appena avrò terminato la lettura.Al momento comunque mi sento di consigliare la lettura.

Quando li este livro, há 10 anos, eu estava com a mente muito aberta e ele fez muito sentido. Independente da história da filosofia e das afirmações e preocupações dos filósofos, o que mais me marcou foi aumento da capacidade em realizar análises(dividir assuntos complexos em pequenas partes) e ter um bom senso acima do padrão. Resolvi reler em inglês e tive uma experiência diferente. Hoje eu consigo entender melhor as filosofias porém a história principal já não foi mais tão impactante :(A gente envelhece e perde a magia de se surpreender…

This book is for everyone who wants to have a better “eye” and feel of the reality and well, the enormous possibilities of non-reality. It is a journey but it’s a journey that inspires. I read this book back in high school when I was still deciding a degree, and pretty much this inspires me to study philosophy…and later on embody it. And it is ironically freeing. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely story, which hopefully offers the young ones a balance of thrill/excitement and content. It is a fun way to discover the delights of philosophy. I would say a well-read 15 year old is too old for it.
